Let's Create Memories Together.
I think about my job a lot, and how lucky I am to capture stories of people’s families, the love that brings them together, and all the fun times they are having. This is my job… I have to pinch myself sometimes. I find myself on the dance floor tapping my feet or singing behind my camera, sometimes crying too during the ceremony, and really just being part of every moment. And now that I have moved out to the NJ countryside, NJ barn weddings hold a very special part of my heart, so I was super psyched to hear that this would be the setting for the wedding of Romy + Kenji.
Romy + Kenji have been exceptional clients from the start, we met over coffee, connected by a past client, and I already knew that I’d have clients that I could truly be myself with. Kenji is an elementary school art teacher, so their appreciation for the fine art aspects of their wedding photos was something that I was excited about. Turns out he made the “outer space” mural behind their ceremony altar too! Romy is a pediatric nurse and has a kindness to her that I could definitely feel – almost all of her family is deaf, and communicates only by sign language, which she had warned me might be a challenge, but I found it to be so inspiring to see how people can communicate through so many different ways, yet we can all feel like we are the same, celebrating the same joys and emotions present on a day like this.
Their wedding was held at Jack’s Barn in Oxford NJ – a unique rustic wedding venue that they really made their own, with all of the artful touches by Kenji, and a fabulous team to put this beautiful wedding together and really make it feel homey and intimate. Thanks to my 2nd photographer Nino for capturing some awesome shots as well!
