Let's Create Memories Together.
Mystic Seaport Wedding Photos
Ian moved to the United States from Hong Kong in high school, and Kaitlin, being the bubbly and friendly personality I’d imagine her to have been in high school (based off of my experience with her today!), immediately befriended him. They recounted their story of meeting during their wedding, which to me, sounded like the sweetest, most innocent love story between two high school sweet hearts – their first kiss… their first date… and so many other beautiful memories between them that I could just picture in front of my eyes.
It only seemed appropriate that after years of college apart, they would be still inseparable, and choose to get married nearby where they grew up in Connecticut.
One of the stories that I loved of theirs that Kaitlin told me, was how, after they moved together to Westerly, RI, they would visit one of the nearby beaches, a hidden gem in my eyes (especially after I saw it!), called Watch Hill (fun fact, because I love celebrity gossip, we passed by one of Taylor Swift’s homes!), where Ian would sometimes rush home after work, and make Kaitlin quickly get changed to rush out the door so that they could watch the amazing sunset together. It’s stories like this that really give meaning to the locations that we photograph in, and that’s what I love about creating these images for my couples!
Their wedding ceremony and boat-themed lunch reception took place at the beautiful restaurant Latitude 41 on the Mystic Seaport overlooking the water. Mystic, Connecticut is a beautiful town that I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph in, and seriously swept me off my feet with it’s beauty, quaintness and sunsets! It couldn’t have been a better day, filled with a daytime dancing reception, good food, and emotional speeches, ending with a little bit of clouds, but with just enough of a sliver of pink in the sky and the birds flying overhead… I’ll take that as a good sign…
