Coptic Orthodox Wedding // Lake Valhalla Club, Montville, NJ

Mary and Shane had a Coptic Orthodox Wedding at St Mary Coptic Orthodox Church. I had never experienced a Coptic Orthodox wedding before but as a wedding photographer, I always look at these opportunities as a time to really see with eyes of curiosity through my lens. It was really fun to experience something a little different, and get to capture it through my own subjective lens.

After their ceremony we headed over to Lake Valhalla Club in Montville, NJ, where Mary and Shane were very clear they just wanted to party all night and enjoy their night! That they did! They were ripping up the dance floor the entire time, weaving in a few of Mary’s Egyptian traditions into the dancing, while the band killed it all night long!

One of my favorite parts of the reception is the very end… when everything is wrapping up, everyone’s just soaking it in, with lots of wine, food, and music to help with this experience… and you get to really see people’s true happiness showing through. The night ended with a bonfire out in the back, and I couldn’t help but notice Mary and Shane’s gaze at each other, holding each other so tight like they didn’t want it to end.
